Brent Lee, MD, MPH, FASA is a physician, healthcare leader and public health practitioner interested in global health security and the link between medicine/public health and national/corporate security.

 

Dr. Lee has worked for many years as a practicing anesthesiologist, academic instructor at the Harvard Medical School, and was fellowship trained in trauma/critical care at the renowned Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD. He has also served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the CDC where he focused on vaccine preventable diseases in the National Immunization Program.

 

In addition, he was a team leader on an NDMS Disaster Medical Assistance Team, served as a medical officer at the US Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance and worked on numerous overseas public health projects and humanitarian assistance programs including as the medical coordinator for the International Medical Corps relief mission during the Kosovar Crisis. Dr. Lee has worked for many years as a healthcare leader, manager and administrator and is a nationally recognized expert in patient safety, holding several national patient safety committee positions. He currently serves as the patient safety officer for a large multi-state medical practice.

 

Dr. Lee is a graduate of Brown University where he completed both his undergraduate and medical school education as well as the Harvard School of Public Health where he studied international health. His main areas of professional interest include medical intelligence, health security, biodefense, international medical assistance and medical countermeasures. Dr. Lee also holds a Top Secret/SCI with full scope polygraph security clearance with the U.S. government and is enrolled in the biodefense graduate program at George Mason University.
